2026 NIA Membership Application

  • Membership cards & boat ramp keys are mailed on or about April 1, of each season – cards & keys are processed and mailed in batches. You must complete both the application and the payment steps, as detailed below, to successfully complete the membership application process.

** NEW MEMBERS, please check the NIA Membership Boundaries before completing this application. If you live outside the boundaries your application will be ineligible and your payment will be refunded. We verify all applications.

Please read the NIA Beach Rules listed below. Violation of these rules may result in loss of membership.
First violation will receive a verbal warning, second violation will receive a written warning, and third violation will result in loss of membership for the season.

NIA Beach Rules

  • Member guests must be accompanied by a member at all times
  • NIA Beaches are for members and their guests only
  • Members must carry their card while using NIA beaches
  • Members may be required to show their card if requested by a director
  • All NIA beaches close at 9pm daily
  • Parent\Guardian supervision required for children under 12 years of age
  • Parent\Guardian supervision required for all children using innertubes
  • Use of adult sized multi-person innertubes beyond swim markers only
  • No animals are allowed on NIA beaches
  • Carry In/Out: Do not leave trash, beach toys or beach equipment, etc.
  • No use of soaps or shampoos
  • No sand or rocking throwing
  • No foul or obscene language use
  • No hard baseball use is allowed
  • Boat launching is allowed at Sandy Beach only during posted times
  • No use of glass containers on NIA beaches
  • No jet ski launching or use at NIA beaches
  • No boat wake withing 100 feet of NIA swimming areas
  • No boat key lending – Violation will result in loss of boat key
  • No smoking on any NIA beaches or properties

In consideration for being allowed to use Nabnasset Improvement Association (NIA) beaches along with participation in events and meetings, I the undersign on behalf of myself, family and invited guests that I might bring along with my heirs, executors, administrators, assigns and legal representatives, agree and indemnify, defend and hold harmless the NIA and their representatives, individually and collectively, from any and all damages, claims, suits, causes of actions to and against a person and property, (including but not limited to attorney’s fees) arising in connection with or related to myself, family and any guests that I might bring in using property owned by the NIA. Furthermore, I assume all risk of injury or loss, wavier and release any claim of damage and injury of any nature I might state against the NIA. and their representatives have been offered the opportunity to consult with the legal and/or other advisors of my choice before signing this Unconditional Wavier and Release, and enter into freely and on behalf of myself, family and invited guests, my heirs, successors and assignees. This Unconditional Wavier Release is constructed under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and for exclusive venue for the resolution of all disputes pertaining to the NIA. Should the Release Parties need to retain counsel to enforce the provisions hereof, the prevailing party in any such action shall be entitled, in addition to any other relief, to recover his, her or it’s attorney’s and expert’s fees. I recognize that there are dangers and risks associated with using NIA beaches and property but want to do so, despite the possible dangers and risks, and despite this Release I accept the “Liability Wavier and Release Agreement” on behalf of myself, family and invited guests.

Please read the Request Boat Ramp Key note listed here.
If you select the Request Boat Ramp Key checkbox below and only pay for a beach membership, you will not receive a boat ramp key with your membership card. You must select “NIA Beach Membership with Boat Ramp Key” when making your payment on the Membership Payment page.

  • I understand that my membership application is not complete until payment is received by PayPal, Credit Card, or Check.
  • I understand that I will not receive a boat ramp key unless membership and boat ramp key fees are paid, along with a completed application.
  • I understand that Directors may not be available for last minute boat ramp key requests. Please plan ahead to receive your boat ramp key before you need it.
  • I understand that I will not receive a boat ramp key if I only pay for a beach membership.
  • I understand that sharing my boat ramp key will result in loss of membership and key. This activity is closely monitored.
